Kitchen And The Plastic Spoons formed in Stockholm, Sweden during the spring of 1980 and quickly gained recognition for their unique sound, which combined urgent vocals with a driving synthesizer pulse. The band's two 7" EPs, two compilation tracks, and three demos from 1980, which have never before been released on vinyl, are featured on the compilation album "Screams To God".
Despite their short existence, Kitchen And The Plastic Spoons were part of the new DIY generation of bands making self-produced singles and rapidly breaking up. Their sound, which was heavily influenced by American bands like Devo, The Screamers, and Pere Ubu, set them apart from other Swedish bands of the time.
The vinyl has been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley for Dark Entries Records and comes in a full-color spot gloss jacket with a photo of Anne sporting bright magenta hair. "Screams To God" showcases the band's energy and attitude, which remain just as liberating and unusual today.
